Lift-out chairs

Metro-Med carries a full line of lift-out chairs by Pride Mobility, Inc.  View the end-to-end product line available by clicking the photo above.  Delivery and setup are included in the prices listed below.  Chairs in stock with the manufacturer at time of order are usually received within 5 business days.

Optional accessories and fabrics are available for some models for an additional fee.  Custom orders take approximately 4 weeks.

Medicare Coverage Guidelines:  Covered if patient has severe arthritis of the hip or knee OR if patient has a severe neuromuscular disease AND if patient is

1) completely incapable of standing up from a regular armchair or any chair in his/her home,

2) able to ambulate once standing AND

3) if all appropriate therapeutic modalities (medication, physical therapy) to enable the patient to transfer from a chair to a standing position have been tried and failed.

ONLY the lift mechanism is covered.  Medicare will not pay for the chair that goes with it, and does not rent the item.  Neither will they pay for a seat-lift that catapults the patient to an upright position.  Therapeutic need must be documented.  Coverage may be able to be approved in advance.  A “prior authorization” request must be sent to DMERC.  To view Medicare's entire coverage guidelines, follow the link below:

NOTE:  Metro-Med will gladly courtesy bill Medicare for this item, but does not accept Medicare assignment.  After receiving payment in full, we will gladly bill Medicare on patients' behalf unassigned and if approved, Medicare will pay 80% of their allowable directly to the subscriber.
